The hero is the top of your property page — the first thing a guest sees. The Hero layout decides how that space presents your photos and, just as importantly, whether your headline and booking bar sit on the photo or below it. Pick it first; every other hero setting builds on it.
Where: Property editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Hero → the four layout cards at the top. (The panel opens on Hero already, so this one is two clicks.) The live preview updates as you switch, so try each one.

Billboard adds one extra choice: whether the photo runs edge-to-edge or floats inset with rounded corners.

A phone screen is tall; most hero photos and videos are wide. A hero that fills the phone screen can only show a narrow slice of them. Mobile height, the pill row under Hero frame, lets you give up the full-screen hero on phones in exchange for seeing the whole photo or video.
Pick the shape your media was shot in and the hero becomes that shape on phones. The headline, tagline, badges and stats move into a band directly under it, and the rest of the page starts right after. Tablet and desktop keep the layout you chose. Clicking a pill switches the preview to the phone frame so you can see the change.

A mosaic is a collage you compose yourself from your own photos — split panels, custom arrangements — and reuse as a single image.
Once a mosaic is in your gallery (Add to gallery on the mosaic), it works like any other photo. Every place that lets you choose from your listing photos offers it, marked Mosaic, with a Mosaics filter at the top of the picker: section and card photos, page heroes, collection hero slides, the guest stories backdrop, neighborhood cards, add-on photos, blog images, business cards and signs, emails, and ad images. It is also in Marketing → Media Library, in the listing's Gallery photos folder, so From library finds it too.
In those places Haven uses a single flattened picture of the collage. Picking one may show Preparing collage… for a few seconds while that picture is made. If you later edit the mosaic, the sections, cards, hero slides and page heroes on your site that use it update on their own within a few minutes. Copies already placed in an email, a blog post, an add-on, a print design or an ad, and anything picked through From library, keep the version you picked; choose the mosaic again to refresh those.
You can also place a mosaic straight into a spot on your listing page: in Photos & Spaces, click a slot in the layout preview (or drag the tile) and choose the mosaic. It can be the lead photo, a story photo, or sit in the gallery. It cannot go in a Parallax strip, which shows one full-width photo with text over it.
A listing's own hero carousel is the one place that shows the live mosaic (each panel opens in the photo viewer) rather than the flattened picture.
My mosaic is in a Story slot but I can't see it on my page. Story 1–3 only feed the page while it uses the built-in story cards. Once you have opened Home → Sections, each section keeps its own photo and the Story slots no longer drive them. Open the section, click Change photo, and choose the mosaic. A mosaic left in a Story slot then shows with your gallery instead.
AI versions. Mosaic tiles have no photo orb, the hero's Create an AI version picker does not list mosaics, and the automatic hero enhancement leaves a mosaic as you made it.

I switched to Full bleed and now the title covers the best part of my photo. Two fixes, use either or both: drag the photo under the title with Adjust focal point on that slide, or move the title with Text & style → Content placement (Stacked puts it low, Editorial left puts it lower-left). If you'd rather have no words on the photo at all, switch back to Billboard.
Why did my hero photo change when I reordered the gallery? With no hand-picked hero photos, Full bleed and Billboard use your gallery's first photo (the Lead photo slot). That slot always drives your listing card and social sharing; it is only the page hero when you haven't hand-picked slides. Hand-pick photos on the Hero tab to decouple the hero from the gallery order.
I made a mosaic but it isn't in Hero photos. A mosaic works like any other photo. If it's first in your gallery and you haven't hand-picked slides, the Hero photos list shows it as inherited ("Showing your cover collage"). Add it as a slide if you want it to rotate with other photos, or move it out of the lead slot if it shouldn't be the hero.
Collage only lets me add 7 photos. That's the maximum grid; remove one to swap another in. Switching to Collage fills the grid with your first 5 gallery photos; click any tile to choose a different one.
How do I animate my hero photos? Do not switch to Carousel just to pick Swipe or Cross-fade — those only change the transition between slides. Turn a still into a short clip with Create video version: click the Siri orb on any hero carousel photo (property or multi-unit editor → Layout → Home → Hero), or in Photos & Spaces open Create → AI Videos and pick a photo. Can I enhance or turn a hero photo into a video? Yes — click the Siri orb on any hero carousel photo, or the Create an AI version orb on the Hero slides card (always visible, even with no slides yet). Both open the full job picker and create a new copy. See Positioning Your Hero Photos. The same orb is on each photo tile in Photos & Spaces, on stills in the live preview, and on a section photo in Page Content (section jobs replace the photo in place).
