Page audio is a soundtrack for your public property or collection site. It is not tied to a hero photo, collage, billboard, carousel, or video. Guests get a Mute / Play music button at the top right of the page, next to the language and currency buttons. Autoplay is on by default, so the music starts on its own.
Where: Property editor → Layout tab (multi-unit site editor → Page tab) → Home → right panel → Hero → Page audio, under the hero photos or slides.
Where (property site): Property editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Hero → Page audio Where (collection site): Multi-unit site editor → Layout tab → Home → right panel → Hero → Page audio Applies when: Shown on the Hero tab of property and collection editors.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Autoplay | On by default. Start the track when the page loads. Browsers often hold it until the guest first taps or presses a key anywhere on the page; the sound control reads Mute while it waits. |
| Play on tap | Turn Autoplay off. The track starts only when a guest presses Play music. |
| Loop | Repeat the track from the start when it ends. On by default for ambient soundtracks. |
| Play once | Turn Loop off. The track plays through once and then stops. |
Use this or hero-video Allow audio, not both. If both are on, the page soundtrack and the video’s own audio run at the same time; Haven does not pause one for the other.
In the property editor open the Layout tab (the multi-unit site editor calls it Page), click Home, then Hero in the panel's top tab strip.
Under Page audio, click Upload audio and choose an MP3, M4A, AAC, or WAV file. Limits are 120 MB and 10 minutes. The card shows the filename, duration, and a short preview player.
Changes save as you make them. Use Replace to swap the file, or the trash control to remove it. Removing the file keeps your Autoplay and Loop choices for the next upload.
When a track is present, guests get one button for it:
There is nothing to switch on. The button appears on any page that has sound and hides on pages that have none. It works on Full bleed, Billboard, Collage, and Carousel, and on collection heroes built from listing photos or your own slides.
One press silences everything a guest can hear on your site: the page soundtrack and a hero video with Allow audio. Pressing it again turns both back on.
The soundtrack belongs to the whole site, not to one page:
The music pauses on pages outside that set, such as a blog post on a single-property site, the guidebook, terms, and checkout. It picks up where it stopped when the guest returns to a page that plays it.
Autoplay is skipped when the guest’s device asks for reduced motion. The button remains so they can start the track themselves.
Autoplay only happens on your actual site. When your page appears inside another page, such as the Haven examples gallery or the editor’s live preview, the soundtrack and any hero-video sound stay off until someone presses play.
Page audio does not appear on community pages that reuse the collection layout, unless that community has its own track.
| Page audio | Hero video → Allow audio | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you set it | Home → Hero → Page audio | Home → Hero → hover a video slide → Video settings |
| What it plays | One uploaded soundtrack for the whole page | The soundtrack baked into that hero clip |
| When it appears | Any hero layout, photo or video | Only when a hero video is showing |
| Guest control | Mute / Play music at the top right | Speaker on the video, and the same top-right button. Browsers may mute until a tap. |
