Haven uses a small set of specific terms in the host dashboard. This article is the authoritative reference — if other articles ever drift, this one is correct.
Haven has two kinds of records you create and edit, and two kinds of public booking pages those records can publish to. That's it. (Hotels and inns with interchangeable rooms can optionally add Room Types inside a Property Group — see below.)
A Property is the underlying record you edit — photos, amenities, pricing, calendar, fees, rules, taxes, integrations. A Property is the thing; a Site is where it's published. Properties live under Sites → Single Property in your host dashboard.
A Property Group is a set of Properties bundled together so they can share content (description, photos, rental agreement, taxes, cancellation policy, etc.) and publish onto one branded booking page. A single Property can belong to one or more Property Groups. Property Groups live under Sites → Multi-Unit in your host dashboard.
A Room Type is an optional grouping inside a Property Group for interchangeable rooms — for example, eight identical King Suites in a boutique hotel. Rooms in a Room Type share content from a lead unit, appear as one card with pooled availability on the Multi-Unit Site, and Haven auto-assigns a free room at booking. Portfolio hosts with distinct properties never need Room Types; sites without them work exactly as before. See Room Types.
A Site is a Haven-hosted, direct-booking surface. Every public booking page Haven serves is a Site. There are two flavors:
