You can send marketing texts and WhatsApp messages from the same Campaigns surface as email. Haven is the sender of record — guests see your stay named in the message, and they reply STOP to opt out of marketing texts from Book With Haven.
Marketing texts only go to people with SMS Marketing on for your list. Reservation texts at checkout are a different opt-in and never unlock marketing, and having someone's number is not permission to text them offers.
That last point is worth being blunt about: texting a number to ask whether they want texts is itself a marketing text to someone who never agreed to receive one, and US law has no exception for existing customers. So Haven asks by email instead.
On Marketing → Audience, select contacts and choose Invite to get texts. Haven emails them a short note asking if they would rather hear about openings by text, linking to a page where they add their number under the text disclosure. Submitting that number is the opt-in, and they immediately get one confirmation text.
You can also add a Stay in touch block to any email from the Blocks tab. Guests tap the button, add SMS and WhatsApp, and accept marketing terms. Submitting writes those channels onto their Audience row. The link is unique to that mailbox and lasts a year. See Marketing Email Editor.
A few rules Haven applies for you:
Check the SMS Marketing column on your Audience before you write anything — that is the list a text can reach.
On Marketing → Campaigns → Broadcasts, press + on a calendar day and choose Text message. In an automation, add a Text message step. Write the body. Haven appends Book With Haven. Reply STOP to opt out unless you already included STOP. Name the stay in the body as the listing the offer is about — Book With Haven is the sender.
The inspector shows how many SMS segments the message will use, including the required footer. Links are shortened so they count as one short URL.
Send me a test texts the phone number on your Haven account. It does not count as a guest marketing send.
WhatsApp marketing uses an approved template. You pick the template and fill its variables — you do not write free-form WhatsApp copy. Session replies inside the 24-hour window stay on Messages, not this campaign step.
Texts honor the listing timezone and the quiet-hours window (9:00 pm–8:00 am local by default). A campaign without a listing timezone cannot be published. Marketing SMS is United States destinations only.
