Visibility and Publishing a Property

A Haven listing is publicly visible and able to take bookings only when all of the following are true:

The property has the required setup fields (photos, title, description, location, pricing).
You are on an active paid plan (not Free).
Your Stripe payouts account is connected and effectively verified.
The property is not archived.

If any one of these is missing, the property is private — only you can see it.

Beyond those gates, there is a direct Hide from public switch (see below) that lets you take a listing — or a whole multi-unit site — off the public web at any time without archiving it or cancelling your subscription. Hiding is the right tool when you want to temporarily stop people from seeing your site publicly but keep everything set up and keep your plan active.

The Visibility section in Edit Listing

Open any property's Edit Listing page and choose Visibility in the section sidebar. The page is the single status board for "Is this property live?". It has three blocks:

1. Bookability checklist

The top card lists every property-level field that is blocking bookability — photos, title, description, location, pricing. Each row links directly to the section that fixes it. A progress wheel shows how many checks remain.

This is the exact same checklist surfaced by the "Not bookable" pill in the sidebar; opening Visibility just shows it inline so you can work through it without leaving the page.

2. Plan

If you're on Free, the Plan card shows the inline plan picker (Starter / Growth / Pro, monthly or yearly) and the property is private until you choose a paid plan.
If you're on a paid plan, the Plan card shows your current plan with a Manage plan link to Settings → Billing & Subscription (/host?tab=billing).

3. Payouts (Stripe)

If your Stripe account is missing or unverified, the Stripe card prompts you to connect or finish onboarding. Until Stripe is verified, no property on your account can accept money — therefore no property can be public.
Once Stripe is verified, the card shows a green check.

Hide from public (without cancelling your subscription)

Sometimes you want to take your site offline for a while — a renovation, a pause between seasons, or just a private window — without losing your setup, your data, or your plan. The Hide from public switch does exactly that.

Hide a single listing

Open the listing's Edit Listing → Visibility section and turn on Hide from public. While hidden:

The public listing page shows a "not found" page to visitors.
The listing is removed from every public Haven surface, not just one gallery. That includes:
- The Examples gallery at bookwithhaven.com/properties
- Haven stay search at bookwithhaven.com/stays — browse, typed search, and AI matches (the traveling guest experience)
- Any Multi-Unit Site it belongs to
- The sitemap (so search engines drop it)
You (and Haven admins) can still open and preview the page so you can review it before bringing it back.
Your plan, billing, reservations, and content are untouched — nothing is archived or deleted.

Turn the switch back off any time to make it public again instantly. It can take about a minute for stay search to catch up after you hide or unhide.

Hide a whole multi-unit site

Open the site's editor → Page basics and turn on Hide from public (it sits just above the delete control). The entire collection page 404s for the public and drops out of the Examples gallery, stay search, and the sitemap, while you keep previewing it and your subscription stays active.

Hide vs. Archive vs. Free

You want to…	Use
Temporarily stop the public from seeing a listing/site, keep your plan	Hide from public (this switch)
Take a listing off the market and stop its per-property billing	Archive the listing
Pause your whole account and stop subscription billing	Downgrade to Free / cancel (Settings → Billing)

What "publicly visible" actually means

When all gates are green and Hide from public is off:

The property's Single Property Site is reachable on the public web (its custom URL and/or custom domain).
The property appears on any Multi-Unit Site that includes it.
The property is discoverable from the public Examples gallery at bookwithhaven.com/properties. See Example Sites.
The property can appear in Haven stay search at bookwithhaven.com/stays once it is set up to take bookings. See How Haven stay search works.
Guests can request or instantly book, depending on your booking rules.

When any gate is red, or Hide from public is on:

The Single Property Site is not public (a placeholder, or a "not found" page if you hid it).
The property is hidden from Multi-Unit Sites.
The property does not appear in Examples, stay search, or any other public index.

"How do I unpublish one property without touching the others?"

Two per-property off switches, with different billing:

Hide from public — takes that listing off every public surface (its page, Examples, stay search, sitemap) without changing your plan or per-property billing. Use this when you want a private window and intend to come back.
Archive — also takes it off every public surface, and stops new bookings and removes the per-property billing add-on. Use this when the listing is off the market.

"How do I pause everything at once?"

Two account-wide levers:

Cancel or downgrade to Free — every property immediately becomes private (existing confirmed reservations are unaffected). Re-subscribe to bring everything back.
Disconnect or pause Stripe — bookings stop processing across all properties until Stripe is reconnected and verified.

Common scenarios
