Haven uses a scheduled payout model: when a guest pays, the money lands in your Stripe Connect balance right away, but Haven controls when it moves to your linked bank account. This mirrors the industry-standard guest-protection schedule (similar to Airbnb) — funds stay in Stripe until the stay is underway, so cancellations and refunds can be handled without anyone coming up short.
A small number of hosts in Haven's direct-payments pilot take guest payments straight into their own Stripe account. If Haven has moved you to direct payments, the Payouts tab shows Guests pay into your Stripe account, and the scheduled-payout model on this page does not apply to new bookings:
To join the pilot, contact Haven support — accounts are moved over by the Haven team.
Open Host Dashboard → Payouts → Payouts pill (the first sub-tab). Once Stripe is connected and verified, the Payouts section at the top lists every payout you're owed or were paid in the last 90 days. Each one shows its date, amount, the reservations it covers, and a colored status badge:
| Badge | What it means |
|---|---|
| On the way to Stripe | The guest paid; Stripe is still settling the funds into your Stripe balance (usually 1–2 business days) |
| In Stripe account | The funds are available in your Stripe balance, waiting for the payout's release date |
| Payout on the way | Haven sent the payout to your bank; Stripe shows the expected arrival date |
| In your bank | Stripe confirmed the deposit landed in your bank account |
| Under review | Haven is checking this payout before it's sent. Nothing is needed from you |
| Needs attention | The payout should have gone out and hasn't — usually funds still settling or a bank / verification issue |
Click Details on any payout to open a side panel with:
Below the payouts list, the Stripe balance card shows Available (settled funds Haven can pay out from) and Pending (still clearing through Stripe).
When a guest pays, their payment arrives in your Stripe account labeled as coming from Haven, without the guest's name. That's the booking money reaching your Stripe balance — not a bank payout. To match it, open Details on the payout: it lists the reservation, guest, and amount.
There are two separate steps — don't confuse them:
| Step | What happens | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Connect balance | Guest pays → Stripe transfers your share to your Stripe Connect balance | Immediate transfer; may show as Pending for 1–2 business days before Available |
| 2. Bank deposit | Haven initiates a payout from your Connect balance to your bank | 24 hours after the guest's check-in date (default for standard bookings) |
After Haven initiates a bank payout, Stripe usually deposits it to your linked account in 1–2 additional business days.
Every confirmed direct booking gets a scheduled release at check-in + 24 hours — including your very first payout; new accounts are not made to wait longer. Haven checks for eligible releases every 15 minutes and batches them — you receive one lump payout per release cycle covering all bookings that share the same release window, not one separate bank transfer per reservation.
When a booking is cancelled:
When you issue a refund on a paid booking (without cancelling):
If you capture all or part of a security deposit after checkout, that amount is scheduled for release as soon as Stripe marks it available on your Connect balance (typically 1–2 business days after capture). It appears in the Payouts list with today's date until it pays out, marked Deposit claim in its details. Deposit payouts are separate from the booking payout and are not cancelled if the booking itself is later refunded — only the booking row is affected.
If a listing pays out to a teammate and a guest redeemed loyalty points on the stay, the account owner's card is charged the redeemed amount and it is transferred to the teammate's Stripe balance. That top-up follows the booking's own schedule (check-in + 24 hours) and shows in that payout's Details as a Loyalty top-up line, so the teammate's deposit equals the full undiscounted price. A full-refund cancellation reverses the top-up along with the booking payout.
Scheduled payout amounts are gross — the booking total Haven will request from Stripe for that release date, before Stripe's card processing fee.
Stripe deducts its processing fee (~2.9% + $0.30 per booking for US cards; more for cards issued outside the US, and for Stripe accounts outside the US or settling outside USD — see International cards and non-US payouts) from your Connect balance separately. The amount on each payout in the Payouts list is the reservations total; your bank deposit will be slightly lower after Stripe's fee. Once a payout is sent, its Details show the exact amount that went to your bank. You can see the exact fee per charge in your Stripe Express dashboard.
If you use guest-paid Screen & Protect, Haven's application fee is already excluded from the scheduled amount — only your net share of the booking is scheduled.
The hold gives Haven a window to process cancellations and refunds while the money is still on your Stripe balance, before it is sent to your bank. Once the guest has checked in and the 24-hour window passes, the stay is treated as underway and the payout is eligible for release.
Stripe connected accounts are on manual payout schedule — Stripe will not auto-pay your bank on its own. Haven's release process is the only thing that triggers bank deposits for booking revenue.
Most delays fall into one of these buckets:
If a payout stays in Needs attention for more than a few hours after its release date, open your Stripe dashboard from the Payouts tab and confirm your bank account is verified. Contact Haven support if the issue persists.
