Synced fields
A property connected to Airbnb, or to a property-management system, keeps a defined set of listing fields aligned with that partner. Each of those fields carries a pill. On the Airbnb connection the pill reads Synced from Airbnb. On any other connection it names your partner: Synced from followed by that name. Open the pill, choose Edit in Haven, and later syncs leave what you typed on your Haven site. The same pill hands the field back.
The clicks are the same for a house, a room at an inn, and a hotel room.
When to use this
Use this when a title or description you wrote was replaced after a sync, when you want one field to stay as you set it, or when you want the partner's value restored.
What Airbnb or your PMS keeps in sync
The pill is shared. The fields behind it follow the partner. On the Airbnb connection, a field shows Synced from Airbnb only when Airbnb sent a value Haven stores. A field Airbnb did not send stays editable. When it is one Airbnb could have sent, its pill reads Not shared by Airbnb instead, and you can type into the field as usual.
Listing content
Haven can keep these in step with Airbnb:
- Title
- Description
- Maximum guests
- Property type and listing type
- Address
- About the space, Guest access, Other notes, the neighborhood description, and getting around
- Amenities, which use their own badge, described below
- House rules, including pets and events. When Airbnb disallows smoking, or marks the stay as not suitable for children, that line is written into the same house-rules text.
- Wi-Fi network name and password
- Check-in time and check-out time
Bedrooms, and full and half bathrooms, are filled from Airbnb when it sends them. Those controls do not show the pill.
Fees, currency, and stay rules
- Cleaning, linen, community, resort, and management fees
- Pet fee and how it is charged, when Airbnb sends a pet fee line. It is kept under Pets, not with the fees above.
- Security deposit, when Airbnb supplies one Haven can store
- Currency, copied from the listing when it is first imported. Later refreshes leave the currency already stored.
- Minimum stay, maximum stay, and the days check-in and check-out are allowed. Airbnb sends minimum stay and check-in or check-out limits date by date. It does not send a per-day maximum stay, and the maximum-stay control stays locked with the calendar rules that do arrive.
- Base nightly rate and Weekend rate. Airbnb sends a price for each date. Haven locks these two controls as the place that stream is owned. Haven does not calculate a base rate or a weekend rate out of those dated prices. Taking the rates over uses Manage pricing in Haven, below.
Photos Airbnb sends stay in the gallery. New ones are added on sync, and a photo Airbnb no longer returns leaves the synced set. A photo you archive in Haven remains archived. A synced photo you delete in Haven is not added again.
A few values Airbnb sends are checked and then left out of the matching Haven field, so that field stays editable: interaction with guests, and raw room details for Where you'll sleep. A PMS that sends rooms locks those sleeping arrangements. See Sleeping Arrangements.
Which fields any other partner fills depends on that partner. The PMS Integrations Overview is the cross-partner list, and the Direct Airbnb Integration Sync and Webhook Reference is the field-by-field account of the Airbnb connection.
What stays yours in Haven
These stay yours while Airbnb or your PMS is connected:
- Tagline
- Photos and videos you upload in Haven. They sit beside the photos your partner sends. An upload is additional, and Airbnb photo sync leaves it in place.
- The guidebook you write for guests
- Site design: pages, colors, type, and how the listing is arranged
- Discounts and promotions you create in Haven. Airbnb's weekly, monthly, last-minute, early-bird, and similar rules are not copied onto the listing. A discount your PMS sends is stored when that partner has an exact mapping for it.
- Your service fee ("keep the margin")
How to edit a synced field in Haven
The example is the title on an Airbnb connection. A PMS connection uses the same clicks. The pill names that partner.
- Open the property.
- Choose Edit listing.
- Open Property Story.
- Click Synced from Airbnb next to Title.
- Choose Edit in Haven.
- Type the title you want on your Haven site. The pill changes to Overriding. Later syncs leave that title in place. Every other synced field stays connected.
The same sequence works for the description, the house rules, Wi-Fi, a fee, and the other fields in the list above.
How to hand a field back
- Open the same field. The pill reads Overriding.
- Click it and choose Re-sync from Airbnb.
- Haven discards the override and pulls the value from Airbnb. Later syncs replace the field again.
On a PMS connection the button reads Re-sync from that partner's name.
What stays on Airbnb
Haven keeps the title on your site. Airbnb keeps the title stored on Airbnb. A content or fee override remains in Haven. It is not written back to the Airbnb listing.
Amenities
Each amenity has its own badge. Open it and choose Edit {name} in Haven to keep that one amenity while the others continue to sync. Take over all amenities owns the whole set. The same action is offered as Or take over all amenities inside the badge, and as Take over all on the note that appears after you edit the first amenity. See Configuring Property Amenities.
Nightly rates
Base and weekend rates are taken over for the whole property. Open the property Calendar, then the Pricing tab, and turn on Manage pricing in Haven. Fees, reservations, and the other synced fields keep their own rules. See Manage Pricing in Haven.
