Sample Data

Sample data fills your account with a year of made-up history — stays, guests, reviews, emails, site visits — so you can see how Haven looks and works once a property is up and running, before you connect anything. One click clears it all when you are ready to go live.

When to Use This

You have not connected a PMS or added a listing yet and want to see the dashboard in use
You want to try the calendar, the guest CRM, Communication, Analytics, reviews and the inbox with real-looking numbers
A Haven team member set your account up with sample data and you want to know what is real

What Loads

Listings — if your account has none, copies of Haven's showcase homes and a group site are added. They are hidden from the public gallery and cannot take bookings. If you already have listings, the sample history is written against them.
Stays — about a year of past bookings and several months of upcoming ones, some booked direct through your Haven site and some marked as Airbnb, Vrbo or Booking.com stays. They show on the Calendar, in Reservations, and in every stat.
Guests — a few hundred contacts in Guests, with tags, notes, lists and private feedback.
Communication — past broadcasts and smart offers with their opens, clicks and the odd unsubscribe, so Performance has history to chart.
Analytics — thousands of site visits with sources, devices and a booking funnel.
Reviews and Inbox — public reviews on each listing and a handful of guest conversations.

What Never Happens

No email, text or message is ever sent. Every sample guest has an address that cannot receive mail, and Haven refuses to send to it.
No charge, payout or Stripe record is created. Sample stays carry no payment.
No ads are bought. The ad campaigns are history only.
Automations do not act on sample stays — no pre-arrival reminders, turnover tasks or guest messages are generated for them.
Your account does not count in Haven's own company metrics while sample data is loaded.

How to Load It

On the Listings tab of an account with no listings, click Try it with sample data.
The dashboard shows a Loading sample data banner for a minute or two while it writes.
When the banner reads You're looking at sample data, every tab is ready to explore.

A Haven team member can also load it for you during onboarding.

How to Clear It

Click Clear sample data in the banner at the top of the dashboard.
Confirm. Clearing removes exactly what was loaded — the sample stays, guests, reviews, emails, visits, and any copied showcase listings — and nothing else.
Then connect your PMS or add your first property and start for real.

Clearing cannot be undone, but you can load sample data again on an account that still has no listings or PMS connection.

Key Details

Sample data cannot be loaded onto an account that has a connected PMS, a real booking or a payment. It is for seeing Haven before you start, not alongside real work.
Sample stays are labelled Sample where a stay is shown on its own, such as the rental agreements and guest verification lists.
The weekly performance digest email is paused while sample data is loaded, so you are never sent sample numbers as if they were yours.
