By default, Haven quotes stays to guests before taxes everywhere before the checkout page — the same way Airbnb's listing page does — and itemizes taxes on the checkout page. This account-wide setting lets you show tax-inclusive totals up front instead.
Airbnb (and most OTAs) show a pre-tax price on the listing page and only add taxes at checkout. If Haven showed tax-inclusive totals on your property page, your direct price would look more expensive than the same stay on Airbnb even when it is cheaper. Matching the convention keeps the comparison fair at the moment guests decide.
The amount the guest pays is identical either way — only what is displayed before checkout changes.
When the setting is off (the default), these guest-facing surfaces show totals before taxes, labelled "Est. total before taxes" or "Taxes are added at checkout":
When the setting is on, all of those totals include estimated taxes from the start.
Always unchanged, regardless of the setting: the checkout page (taxes itemized, full total shown), receipts and confirmation emails, what Stripe charges, and every host-side view of pricing.
