When a guest books a stay on your Haven site, they can plan it before they pay: place your experiences and add-ons on the days of their trip, ask for a time, or let AI lay the stay out. The plan carries into checkout, onto the reservation, and into the guest's guidebook. This article is what the guest sees; the host-side settings are in Experiences and Add-ons.
After the guest picks dates and taps Book or Request to book, Haven opens Plan your stay — as long as you have at least one upsell with Offer at checkout on. If you have none, or the guest is only sending an inquiry, they go straight to checkout.
The screen has two parts:
The guest adds an item by tapping its card and picking a day, or by dragging the card onto the calendar — onto a day for the all-day row, or onto a time on the grid. Items already on the calendar can be dragged to another day or time the same way. On an open day the guest can also click an empty time: the slot is marked, the shop shows a banner with the day and time and dims anything that cannot go then, and tapping an offer opens it with that day and time filled in (an item that runs at set times takes your nearest slot). While it is dragged, a small card follows the pointer and says where it will land (the day and time, All day, or Not available then), the day under the pointer is outlined, and a dashed block shows the exact spot; days an item cannot go on are greyed out. Clicking an item on the calendar opens a small editor to set its time (the host's slots, or a preferred time), remove it, or open its full details. If the item still needs a choice (an option, a required answer, or which of several time slots), dropping it opens the card on that day so the guest can finish. The same item can go on several days, each as its own line (two floating breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday). A sticky bar at the bottom shows how many items are planned and the running total. If something on the plan still needs a choice (a day, a time slot, an option or a required answer), the button reads Finish N items to continue: tapping it opens each of those items in turn, with what is missing shown at the top, and Save & next moves on to the next one. Closing the window stops; the button picks up where it left off.
The plan saves itself as the guest works, and survives a refresh or a return from checkout. Anything the guest added to their bag on your property page before choosing dates arrives already on the plan.
What the guest can pick depends on how you set up each item:
If the item asks questions (for an airport pickup: flight number and arrival time), optional ones can be left blank at booking. After booking, each item in the guidebook shows Your details with Add details or Edit, so the guest can fill them in or correct them later; the host sees the answers on the reservation.
The Plan my stay button proposes a plan from your catalog and the guest's dates and party. It reads your offers' names, descriptions and scheduling rules and places a few of them on sensible days and times — arrival logistics on the arrival day, breakfasts in the morning, active outings before a massage, a celebration dinner on the last evening — with a one-line reason for each.
Before the guest sees it, Haven checks the proposal against your setup and removes anything that cannot be honoured: items not offered at checkout, days outside the stay or excluded by your settings, times outside your slots, two timed items overlapping, quantity or lead-time limits. The guest then chooses Use this plan (replaces what they had), Add to my plan (merges), or Try again with a note about what they want. Every suggested item becomes an ordinary item they can move or remove.
The AI never invents an offer, a price or a time. Its reasoning is saved with the booking and shown to you on the reservation under Planned with Haven AI.
If you set an upsell to Gift it for returning guests, a guest who has stayed with you before (recognised by their account or booking email, once they have the number of prior stays you set) opens the planner with the gift already on their plan: a Welcome back strip at the top, the item at $0 with the usual price struck through, and a Gift from your host label — plus your note, if you wrote one. They can move it to another day; it stays free. Units beyond what you gifted are sold at the usual price.
An upsell set to Offer it is pointed out to the returning guest with a Welcome back badge and your note; they pay the usual price.
See Returning guests: gifts and offers for the setting.
Continue to checkout carries the plan to the payment page, where it appears as Your plan: each day and its items, gifts marked, and the total. An Edit plan link goes back to the planner. Skip for now goes to checkout with nothing planned — your offers are still in the guest's guidebook afterwards.
The plan is priced by the same calculator as the stay: every item is a line on the receipt with its day and time, gifts as $0 lines marked as your gift. For a booking request, the plan is held with the request and charged when you accept.
Once the stay is booked, the guest's guidebook keeps the plan:
Items you add from the reservation's Add to this day button appear here as well. Guests who booked on Airbnb, Vrbo or through a PMS do not go through the pre-checkout planner, but their guidebook itinerary works the same way.
Can a guest skip the planner? Yes — Skip for now goes straight to checkout. They can still buy from the guidebook later.
What if the guest changes their dates? The planner re-opens on the new dates; items on days that no longer exist in the stay are flagged for the guest to move or remove before continuing.
Does the planner show items that need my approval, quotes, or sessions? No. Those are sold after booking in the guidebook, as before. See "Offer at checkout" is greyed out.
Who confirms a requested time? You do, from the reservation's Itinerary section. Until then the guest sees it as requested.
