Setting Your Property Location

Accurately setting your property's location helps guests find your property and understand the area. Haven uses Google Maps integration to make this process easy.

Setting Location

1. Navigate to Location — Property editor → Space tab → Location (the section is titled Location & local guide)
2. Search for your address — Use the Google Maps search box to find your property
3. Select the correct address — Choose your property from the search results
4. Verify the pin — Make sure the map pin is in the correct location. Drag it to adjust if needed.
5. Set Display location — type the public location you want under the title on the home page and in the footer

If the street address is synced from your PMS, it may be locked. You can still edit Display location — that field is yours.

Display location (what guests see on the home page and in the footer)

Display location is the guest-facing location shown under your title on the home page — and, by default, in the site footer — for example "Catskills, New York" or "Fredericksburg, Texas". This is the field to use when you want to add an address or area name to the home page or footer.

It is not the street address. Guests see the full street address only after they have a confirmed booking, unless you turn on Show street address in the footer.

How to set it

1. Open the property editor
2. Go to Space → Location
3. Find Display location
4. Type the location you want guests to see (placeholder: "e.g. Catskills, New York")

Leave it blank to use the city and state from your street address. Clearing it returns to that derived label.

To hide the location line from the hero without changing the text, use Home → Hero → Text & style → Show location. That toggle does not set the words.

Home → Contact is public phone, email, and social links — not the location under the title. Footer location is configured in the Footer section on that same Contact tab.

Multi-unit sites

On a multi-unit site, the equivalent field is Display locations under Home → Page. Add one or more area names (up to six); they appear above the title with a location pin (press Enter to add a name — commas stay in the name), and the footer uses the same list.

The site footer shows Display location by default (not the street address).

How to change what the footer shows

1. Open the property editor (or collection editor)
2. Go to Home → Contact → Footer
3. Use Show location to show or hide the line
4. On a property site, turn on Show street address if you want the full street address instead of Display location

The words themselves still come from Space → Location → Display location (property) or Home → Page → Display locations (multi-unit). Leave the footer field blank to keep that default; type in the footer field only if you want a one-off override.

Location Benefits

When setting your location, consider highlighting:

• Nearby attractions - Restaurants, beaches, parks, etc.
• Transportation - Public transit, airports, highways
• Neighborhood features - What makes the area special
• Accessibility - How easy it is to get around

Accuracy Matters

• Correct location - Helps guests navigate accurately
• Nearby search - Guests searching by area will find you
• Trust - Accurate information builds guest confidence

Local Guide & Recommendations

The Location & Local Guide section also includes Local recommendations — your curated list of nearby stores, restaurants, things to do, and services. This is different from Guest Offers (Host Co): the Local Guide is free, informational content that helps guests explore the area.

• Use Generate recommendations to get AI-suggested places based on your address
• Add your own favorites manually — Haven writes blurbs, finds photos, and adds directions
• Review and edit before saving — recommendations appear on your property page and in the House Manual
