Upsells: Provisioning and Quote Requests

Some offers cannot be priced up front. Villa provisioning depends on the shopping list; a custom excursion depends on the itinerary; a below-minimum group needs a bespoke price. For those, create a native upsell with the Request a quote pricing model.

How the flow works

1. Guest requests. A booked guest opens the guidebook Offers tab, sees the offer, and sends a request with an optional message ("family of 5, gluten-free, arriving late Friday").
2. You reply. The request lands in the Quote requests inbox in the Upsells studio (you also get an email). Reply with a price and a note — or decline with a reason. You can set an expiry on the quote.
3. Guest accepts and pays. The guest sees your quote in the guidebook and pays through the same Stripe checkout as everything else. The money lands in your Stripe account with 0% Haven commission.

Every step is visible to both sides: the guest sees requested → quoted → paid (or declined) status on the offer; you see the full thread in the inbox.

Details that matter

• Quote-model items are guidebook-only. They never appear as pre-booking toggles, because there is no price to charge at booking time. Guests must have a confirmed stay to request one.
• Quotes can expire. If you set an expiry and the guest does not pay in time, the quote lapses; unpaid checkout sessions release automatically and the quote returns to its quoted state so the guest can try again or you can re-quote.
• Below-minimum fallback. A regularly priced experience with a participant minimum can also route smaller groups into this same quote flow — turn on Offer a quote below the minimum on the item.
• Not included lines and price disclosures work here too: state what the quote will and won't cover before the guest requests.
• After payment, the item joins your fulfillment queue like any other sold upsell.
