AI Mode: Edit Your Site by Chatting

Both site editors — a listing's (Edit Listing) and a multi-unit site's — have two modes. UI mode is the editor with its sidebar, panels and sheets. AI mode puts the live preview of your site on the left and an assistant on the right: describe what you want, and it makes the change while the preview reloads to show it. You can run several chats at once, each working on its own.

When to use

  • You know the result you want but not which setting gets you there: "make the site feel more premium", "the hero feels cold".
  • You have a list of small changes: rewrite the hero, retitle two sections, add FAQs about parking.
  • You want to try ideas and keep what works. Every applied change has Undo.

Switch modes

  1. Open the editor: Sites → Listing sites → Edit listing, or Sites → Group sites → Edit multi-unit site.
  2. In the header, after the site switcher (and the Edit Listing · Calendar switch on a listing), click AI. Click UI to go back.

Haven remembers the mode in this browser, for both editors. AI mode needs a computer-sized window; on a phone or a narrow window the editor opens in UI mode. On a multi-unit site it is there for the site's owner.

Chat with the assistant

  1. Type what you want in the box at the bottom right, or click one of the suggestions in an empty chat. Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line. The paperclip attaches a screenshot or a file, and the mic lets you dictate.
  2. The assistant reads your site, then makes each change as a card in the chat that says what it changes.
  3. With Auto-apply on, edits to this site apply as the cards arrive and the preview reloads to show them. An applied card folds to one line with Undo; click the line to see the whole change.
  4. Click + to open another chat. Each chat is its own conversation and runs on its own, so one can rewrite your copy while another tries new colors. Switch between them with the tabs across the top.
  5. A tab spins while its chat is working, shows an amber dot while changes wait for your OK, and a blue dot when a reply arrived while you were in another chat. Up to 8 chats can be open at once; close one with its ×.
  6. The clock icon is History: your saved chats, newest first. Opening one puts it in a tab of its own. Closing a tab does not delete its chat; it stays in History.

Auto-apply

The Auto-apply switch sits beside the send button, and it is on unless you turn it off.

  • Applies right away: edits to the site you have open — its name, tagline, description and hero words, colors, fonts, header and hero style, the sections on Home and your other pages (added or rewritten), FAQs you add, house rules and check-in details, and the title and description shown in search results.
  • Waits for your OK, with the reason on the card: anything about money or availability (prices, fees, discounts, minimum stays, Instant Book, cancellation policy, taxes, currency), publishing or hiding the site, removing a section or FAQs, the contact details guests reach you at, changes to any other listing or site, and everything that is not an edit to this site, such as calendar blocks, reservations, imports and generated images. Click Accept on the card to apply it.

Turn Auto-apply off and every change waits for Accept, as it does in the assistant bar on other pages. The setting is remembered in this browser.

Good to know

  • The preview keeps the page you are on (click the tabs inside it to move around) and your desktop / phone choice while it reloads. View live site opens the published page in a new tab.
  • Changes made in AI mode are saved like any other edit. Switch to UI mode and they are there.
  • When the assistant offers to open one of the editor's panels for you (for example Go to Photos), the editor switches to UI mode and opens it.
  • Your chats keep working while you are on the Calendar tab, and they come back when you reload the page.
  • In AI mode the assistant bar at the bottom of the page steps aside: the chats on the right are the assistant.
