Your Default Brand: One Look for Every Site, Email and Automation

Most accounts have one brand, and it should not need setting up twice. Your default brand is the look Haven reaches for whenever nothing more specific has been chosen: the logo, colors and fonts a new site opens with, the letterhead at the top of every email, campaign and booking automation, and the name and mark on guest pages that belong to your account rather than to one listing. Change it once under Grow your brand → Brand and everything still following it changes with it.

Where to find it

Open Grow your brand → Brand (/host?tab=brand). The page opens on Your brand: a card with the brand's name, how many listings and collections wear it, whether every email follows it (or how many have a header of their own), a live preview of a site in that brand, and the email letterhead it draws. Edit brand opens the editor right there, under the card. There is no separate screen to find.

If the card still calls the brand My brand, that is the placeholder name Haven gave it. Use the pencil beside the name to give it the one guests know. The name you type is the library name; the wordmark printed above your emails is set in the Email letterhead section below.

What the default brand reaches

  • New sites. Every listing or collection site you create, import or connect opens wearing it. A site can be given a different brand later under Site assignments, or edited by hand, which detaches it from the library.
  • Email letterhead. The band above every email starts from this brand: a new broadcast, a new campaign step, a custom automation email, and every booking message under Communication → Message automations. An email about a stay keeps the listing's own name and logo and takes the brand's artwork and layout.
  • Emails with no listing. A newsletter, a list automation or a broadcast with no site picked is themed in this brand's colors, fonts and logo instead of Haven's.
  • Guest pages for your account. The pages that ask a guest for permission to email or text them, and the confirmation they land on afterwards, name your brand rather than your first listing. Texts from a campaign with no listing sign off with it too.

The Email letterhead section

The brand editor has an Email letterhead section beside Colors, Typography and Logo:

  • Name — the wordmark printed under the logo. Leave it blank to show the logo alone.
  • Style — Logo, Editorial, Photo hero, Photo + caption or Artwork. The thumbnails are the explanation.
  • Artwork or photo — upload a banner you designed, or pick one from your Media Library. Photo styles also take a Title (the Headline on Artwork), a Subtitle and, for Photo hero, a Dimming choice.

To have Haven draw artwork for one email, open that email's header and use Generate artwork. It reads the email and sets your mark and headline into a scene made for it.

The preview beside the section is the band exactly as an inbox draws it. Changes save on their own and reach every email that follows the brand on its next send or preview.

Emails that follow the brand, and emails that don't

In the email editor, the line under the header says where its letterhead comes from. Your brand's letterhead means the email follows the brand: change the brand and this email changes. Click the header and press Customize for this email to give that one email its own header. From then on it keeps what you set, whatever happens to the brand. Back to brand letterhead in the same place returns it to following.

Changing a color or a font on an email does not make its header custom. Only editing the header itself does.

Emails you customized before this existed keep their header exactly as you left it.

More than one brand

A second brand (a sub-label, a partner's properties) lives under Other brands below the card, with its own editor, sites and letterhead. Only one brand is the default at a time. To change which, use the Default brand picker on the Your brand card, or Set as default on a row under Other brands. Sites already wearing the old default keep it; new sites and every email still following the brand switch to the new one.

The default brand has no Delete of its own. Make another brand the default first; the old one then moves under Other brands, where it can be deleted.

If you have no brand yet

The card reads Set up your brand. Pick a site under Start from and press Save as my brand to make that site's look your brand, choose Use a saved brand to make a library brand the default, or press Start from scratch. Until you do, emails take their letterhead from the listing they are about, and emails with no listing carry none.
