Haven supports a wide range of payment methods so your guests can pay how they prefer. All payments are processed securely through Stripe and settled to the host's connected Stripe account — the host is the provider and seller of the stay, and Haven facilitates the payment on the host's behalf.
Guests can pay for bookings using:
A bank payment takes a few business days to clear. Until it does, the dates stay held, the guest's guidebook shows Payment processing, and the booking confirms by itself once the money arrives. If the debit fails, the dates are released. While it clears, the booking can't be changed, re-priced or cancelled.
Haven never keeps a bank payment on file for later charges. A security deposit hold, a balance on a payment plan, or an add-on you approve later always needs a card (or Link), so a guest who paid by bank has to add one before those can be charged.
A transfer the guest sends to your own bank account is not one of these checkout methods. Record that booking as Already paid outside Haven, with the fee table set to the amount the guest paid, never a $0 total. See Manual Bookings.
Guests can pay over time in two different ways.
To let every guest pay part now and the rest later, turn on a payment schedule: a deposit at checkout (for example 30% or 50%) and the balance charged automatically to the same card a set number of days before check-in. It is off until you turn it on. Set it per listing on Calendar → Price → Payment schedule, or for many listings at once in the Payment schedule column of Sites → Listing settings. See Payment Schedules.
Klarna and Affirm offer guests their own financing at checkout. Guests can:
These options appear automatically at checkout when the guest and transaction qualify (based on amount, currency, and location). There is no Haven switch for them: the lender pays the full amount at checkout and the guest repays the lender.
Guests can switch the currency prices are displayed in (a ≈-marked approximation using daily ECB rates) on your property site, checkout, and guidebook. The actual charge always stays in your property's currency — see Guest Display Currency.
Payment method availability depends on:
Guests in the US typically see the widest range of options, including Klarna, Affirm, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App Pay.
