Third-party widgets on your site

Yes. A widget or other embed can take the place of a photo on a Story, Parallax, Article, or Video story section. Where the booking itself should happen on another system, another platform's booking widget can replace Haven's booking bar. Ad and analytics tracking tags — a Meta Pixel, GA4, and Google Tag Manager — are added as IDs under Marketing → Tracking. Outside code cannot go inside Haven checkout.

Embed a widget in a page section

Any section with a photo of its own can show a YouTube or Vimeo video, a virtual tour, or another widget in that photo's place. A map, a 3D tour, or a widget that arrives as one link or a block of embed code uses this box.

  1. Open the site editor for the property or the group site and find the section under Page Content.
  2. Open a Story, a Parallax band, an Article, or a Video story.
  3. Click the photo. In the photo chooser, pick Embed a video, tour, or widget, the fourth option under the three photo choices.
  4. Paste one thing into the box: a YouTube link from the address bar (a watch link, a youtu.be link, or a Short), a Vimeo link, a single https link, an iframe, or the embed code from the tool (Matterport, Kuula, CloudPano, Google Maps, and most others). The line under the box says what Haven made of it before you commit.

On a story or an article, the embed sits where the photo was, at the same size. A parallax band gives the embed the whole band. Scroll motion stays off so the tour is not cropped, and the words and overlay stay on top but let clicks through. Set Height to Tall when the walkthrough should fill the screen. A video story fills a 16:9 frame, with the caption beneath the player so nothing covers the controls.

The photo stays saved underneath. Remove embed, in the same dialog, brings it back. Links must be https. Anything more than a single link or iframe runs in a protected frame that cannot read your site, your account, or your guests' details.

The hero, carousel tiles, and team cards do not take this embed. An uploaded video file is a different control. See Put a video on your site. The same path, screen by screen, is in Group site editor.

Use another platform's booking widget

This is the control that changes the booking flow. When stays are reserved on another platform, the Haven site can send guests through that platform's widget instead of Haven checkout.

Open the property editor's ⚙ Settings tab → Advanced → Booking widget, choose Another platform, and paste the widget's embed code or link. Pasted code sizes itself. For a link, pick a height — Bar, Compact, Standard, or Tall — that shows the whole widget.

The widget takes the place of Haven's booking bar, in the same spot. Guests first see a Check availability pill with a Book now button in your brand color, floating over the bottom of the hero and pinned under the header as they scroll. On a phone it is a bar at the bottom of the screen. Tapping it opens the widget in place, and every Book now or Check availability button goes there.

On a group site the setting lives under Settings → Advanced in the group site editor and replaces the search bar on Home. Listings opened inside that site show the site's widget unless the listing has its own. Choose Haven to switch back. Availability search → Hidden (Home → Hero → Layout) takes the widget off Home until Search bar is chosen again. A listing that carries the widget on its own page keeps it.

Guests see the widget on a paid plan. On a free plan it stays saved, and you still see it on your own site while you are signed in, with a note under the pill that only you can see it. Guests see Haven's booking bar until the plan is paid. Bookings made in the widget belong to the other platform, not to Haven, so Haven checkout, payments, screening, and guest messages do not apply to them.

The longer version of this setup is in Property site editor.

Ad and analytics tags

Marketing → Tracking is where a Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4, and Google Tag Manager are attached. You paste IDs, never code. Haven installs the pixel, the GA4 tag, and the Tag Manager container on your custom domain, your *.bookwithhaven subdomain, and the canonical Haven URL. Skip the "add this snippet to your <head>" step those tools show.

Sites are grouped into Single Property Sites and Group Sites. Open a site, paste each ID into its field, and it saves on its own. A Tracking on badge appears once any ID is set.

On a group site, put the ID on the site and on every listing. The site row covers that site's own pages (home, menu pages, blog). Each listing's row covers the listing page, its checkout, and the guest portal, which is where the purchase event fires. Paste the same ID on the site row and on each listing row, or the funnel stops at the listing page. That checkout coverage is the purchase tag. It is not a slot for a widget.

Google Tag Manager on this screen is a container for tags. It is not a way to place a widget, an events feed, or other HTML on the page. A custom HTML tag in that container is not a supported way to add anything inside Haven checkout.

The field-by-field setup is in Conversion tracking and analytics.

What can't be added

Custom code in the page head. Haven has no field for a script, a pixel snippet, or other HTML in the site's <head>. The tracking page accepts the three IDs above, and Haven installs those tags.

Anything inside Haven checkout. Outside code cannot go inside Haven checkout. Guest details, payment, and confirmation stay Haven's pages. A section embed sits on the site around the booking, not inside those steps. Another platform's booking widget is the route when the booking itself should leave Haven, and then the guest never reaches Haven checkout.

A live feed in the booking bar. The bar collects dates and starts the booking, or it is replaced as a whole by another platform's booking widget. It does not take an events feed, a second iframe, or any other live embed beside the dates.

A social wall is the same kind of boundary. It shows posts you paste, and it does not take third-party embed code or a tracking script. A YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok post link is a different control, covered in Put a video on your site.

Local events Haven already finds

Haven already looks up real events near a property, and it uses them in email to past guests rather than as a feed on the booking page. There is nothing from another company to connect.

Once a week, Haven scans for verifiable events — festivals, races, fairs — one to four months out, for each property with past guests it can reach. Every suggestion includes a source link. Haven does not invent the event.

Those suggestions show in two places, and they are the same list: the Event recommendations panel above your broadcasts in Marketing → Campaigns, and the Review tab on Marketing → Overview. Add to drafts composes the email and files it for you to review and send. Check for events runs the scan now. Nothing from that scan is dropped into the booking bar or into checkout. A widget you already have can still go in a section, by the embed steps above.
