Who's coming? (travel companions at checkout)
Every booking on your Haven checkout with more than one guest asks Who's coming?: a name and an email for each guest besides the person booking. Everyone listed with an email is invited onto the trip as soon as the booking is confirmed, so they get the check-in details and the guidebook themselves, and each one becomes one of your contacts. Haven also remembers who travels together: a returning guest fills the card in one tap, and you see who a guest usually brings.
When to use
It is on for every listing, with nothing to set up, and it is optional for the guest. If you need every name before a stay is booked (a building that registers guests, a local registration rule), turn on Require the names of everyone staying — see Require every name below.
What the guest sees
- On checkout — instant book, request to book, a payment link you sent, or a request you approved — the Who's coming? card sits between Guest details and Payment. It has one row per guest besides the booker (infants are not counted): two rows to start, and Add more guests opens the rest.
- Each row takes a full name and an email. A blank email is fine. One that is not a real address is flagged under the row: it holds payment until it is fixed, or, if the card form is already showing, that person is simply not invited until it is.
- A signed-in guest who has travelled with people before — on your stays or any other Haven host's — sees them under People you've traveled with: one tap fills a row with their name and email, and typing a name suggests them too. A guest only ever sees their own companions, and a browser that is not signed in sees none.
- While your loyalty program's companion reward is on, the card shows the points the guest earns for each friend who joins. See Loyalty points.
- Questions to you (inquiries) never show the card.
What happens when the booking is confirmed
- The names show as Also staying on the reservation.
- Each traveler with an email joins the stay as a trip member invited by the booker, and is emailed the Co-guest invitation ("Alex invited you to their stay at …"), the same email a guidebook invite sends. Accepting it opens the stay's guidebook. Like every invite a guest sends, it has no off switch on Communication → Message automations.
- Your A co-traveler is added automations run for each one, and after checkout each gets their own review request.
- Each one is added to your contacts the way any invited trip member is, with this stay as where the address came from.
- A request to book invites nobody until it is approved and paid. The booker's own email, an address already on the trip, and rows with only a name are not invited.
- A guest who changes the list while the payment form is open is saved as they type; the last version before payment is the one that counts.
Travels with
Haven keeps no separate list: the stays are the record. Everyone who shared a stay — the booker, invited trip members, and names listed at checkout or on a guest form — counts, including stays from before this card existed.
- Reservation → Guest row shows Travels with: the people this guest stayed with on your other stays, with how many stays they shared.
- A guest's profile → Overview (open it from Communication → Guests, or click the guest's profile badge anywhere) shows the same people under Travels with. Click someone with an email to open their profile.
Only your own stays count on your side; a guest's trips with other hosts never show to you.
Require every name
Under Settings → Trust & Safety → Guest verification, in the All
listings box (/host?tab=trust&trustSub=verification), turn on Require
the names of everyone staying. It is off until you turn it on and applies to
every listing on your Haven checkout. With it on, every row needs a name
before the guest can pay or send a request to book; emails stay optional. A
stay that already has the names — a request named at booking, now paying
through your link — is not asked again. Full details:
Guest security options.
What it does not do
- It does not change the guest count or the price; the rows follow the number of guests on the booking.
- It does not ask Airbnb, Vrbo or PMS guests: they never see your checkout. They can invite companions from the guidebook instead — see Guest portal.
