Collection pages: the pages Haven builds for each area and kind of stay on your group site
A group site with several listings gets a set of collection pages: one page for each area and each kind of stay the site has two or more of. A site with eight cabins, six of them pet-friendly and four with hot tubs, gets a pet-friendly page and a hot tub page under its listings folder, each listing exactly those cabins. Someone searching for a pet-friendly cabin in your town lands on a page that answers that search, on your domain.
You do not switch them on. They exist while your listings support them, and you can take any one down.
Where the pages live
Every collection page sits under your site's listings folder, the first word of every listing address (Sites → SEO → Listing URLs). With a folder called cabins:
| Page | Address |
|---|---|
| A kind of stay | yoursite.com/cabins/pet-friendly, /cabins/with-a-hot-tub, /cabins/lake-houses |
| An area | yoursite.com/cabins/in/mineral-bluff |
| Both | yoursite.com/cabins/in/mineral-bluff/pet-friendly |
The kinds are fixed: pet-friendly, with a hot tub, with a pool, with an EV charger, with a workspace, on the water, surrounded by nature, for groups, quiet, design-forward, with a story, cabins, beach houses, condos, lake houses, villas and cottages. Each reads the same fields on every listing: the amenities you tick, the property type, and Haven's character read of the stay.
Areas come from the Neighborhoods tag on each listing (Properties → Neighborhoods). When no listing has a tag and your listings sit in more than one town, the towns are the areas.
Because these words are page addresses, a listing can never use one of them as its own page name. If a listing is called "Quiet", its address gets a number after it.
When a page exists
A page exists only when it is worth a visitor's click and a search engine's index:
- Two or more listings match it.
- Fewer than all of them. A page listing every stay would be a copy of your listings page, so Haven leaves it out. The listings page states the fact instead.
- An area and kind together needs three listings and must differ from both the area page and the kind page.
When a listing changes, the pages follow. Tick pet-friendly on a second cabin and the pet-friendly page appears; untick it and the page goes away, along with its sitemap entry.
What is on a page
The page uses your site's header, colors, footer and language. Under the hero (the first listing's cover photo, or the one you pick) it carries a one-line lead with the counts, a facts strip (how many stays, how many guests they sleep, how many are pet-friendly or have a hot tub), a grid of the listings with a link to each, chips to your other collection pages and your listings page, a short set of questions and answers, and the same "Ready to stay" band every landing page has.
Search engines and AI assistants receive the same facts as structured data (a CollectionPage, the list of stays, the questions), and the page is in your sitemap, your llms.txt file and your footer's Explore row.
Hiding a page or writing your own introduction
Sites → SEO → pick the group site → Listing URLs → Collection pages lists every page with its stay count and a link.
- Switch a page off to take it down. It returns a "not found" response and leaves the sitemap, llms.txt and the footer. Switch it back on at any time.
- Add intro opens a text box. What you write replaces the generated lead paragraph on that page; leave it empty to keep the generated one.
Hiding a page never hides a listing; the listing keeps its own page and stays in your listings folder.
How this works with your SEO landing pages
The SEO kit (Sites → SEO → Checklist → SEO landing pages) writes prose pages about your area and the kinds of trips people take there. Collection pages are the listing pages that answer the same searches with your actual stays. The two link each other: every landing page's Explore row carries the collection pages, and every collection page's footer carries the landing pages.
Haven's own directory
Separately from your site, Haven lists every public listing on its own directory at bookwithhaven.com/stays, with a page per country, region and town and the same kinds of stay. Those pages link to your listings and to your group site. Each listing's Findability card in the listing editor shows whether it is on its place page; a listing needs a country in its address to be on one, and a city to reach its town page.
