Airbnb Payout Schedule (2026): When Hosts Get Paid and Why Payouts Are Delayed

Airbnb releases a host's payout about 24 hours after the guest's scheduled check-in, and the money then moves at the speed of the payout method: 30 minutes or less for Fast Pay, within one business day for PayPal, three business days for ACH direct deposit, three to five for a bank transfer and three to seven for an international wire. A guest who checks in on Monday, October 19 produces a release on Tuesday, October 20 and a bank deposit between Friday the 23rd and Tuesday the 27th. What lands is the subtotal less Airbnb's host fee: $845 on a $1,000 booking at 15.5%.

Two clocks, then, and most "where is my payout" questions are answered by knowing which one is running. The rest come down to a short list of holds Airbnb documents: a new host's first reservation, a payout method that is not ready, missing taxpayer information, a changed or cancelled reservation, a security review, or a bank holiday. Below: the standard schedule, the monthly schedule for stays of 28 nights or more, each delay reason with what to do, and how a direct booking pays out through Stripe. The fee itself is covered in Airbnb host fees explained.

    Key facts

    • Airbnb typically releases a payout about 24 hours after the guest checks in, per its "Getting paid as a new host" article; the Resource Center says within one business day after check-in.
    • After release, Airbnb's "When you'll get your payout" article lists Fast Pay at 30 minutes or less, PayPal within 1 business day, ACH direct deposit 3 business days, a bank account 3 to 5 and an international wire 3 to 7.
    • For stays of 28 nights or more, the first payout is released by the end of the business day after scheduled check-in and later payouts follow monthly. A host without two completed stays and a verified listing location waits 28 days for the first.
    • Airbnb may delay funds up to 45 days after check-in during a transaction review, hold a first-time host's payout on a cancelled reservation until 30 days after it was confirmed, and freeze payouts or withhold tax when taxpayer information is missing.
    • A direct booking on a Stripe-powered site settles on Stripe's standard US schedule of 2 business days, after a first payout that takes 7 to 14 days, and costs 2.9% plus 30 cents rather than 15.5%.

    Two clocks: release and transfer

Airbnb's side is the release. The Earnings dashboard lists each upcoming reservation with a scheduled payout date; for a standard stay that is the day after the guest's scheduled check-in, whether or not the guest has turned up.

The second clock belongs to the payout method. Airbnb's own page says there is a processing time after release before the funds reach your provider, and that it varies by provider and region.

Weekends and holidays touch only the second clock, and only some methods. Airbnb notes that Fast Pay and Payoneer process on weekends and holidays while banks generally do not, so a Friday check-in releases on Saturday and a bank transfer then arrives between Wednesday and Friday of the following week.

    Payout methods and their timing

Payout methodTime for the method to be readyArrives after release
Fast Pay (eligible regions, to a debit card)Instantly, if eligible30 minutes or less
PayPalUp to 2 business daysWithin 1 business day
ACH direct deposit (US and Puerto Rico)5 to 7 business days3 business days
Bank account (local transfer)3 to 5 business days3 to 5 business days
International wireUp to 2 business days3 to 7 business days
PayoneerAbout 2 business days for approval, then 4 to 15 for the cardWithin 24 hours (Airbnb's timing page); 1 to 3 hours (its Payoneer page)

All figures are Airbnb's, from its payout timing and payout method pages as read in October 2026. Set the method up before the first guest arrives, and count business days from the release rather than calendar days from checkout. Fast Pay carries a per-payout fee that Airbnb shows when you add the method.

Stays of 28 nights or more

Monthly stays run on their own schedule because the guest pays in instalments rather than up front. Airbnb's help article on payouts for monthly stays says the initial payout is released by the end of the business day after the guest's scheduled check-in, with later payouts released monthly for the rest of the stay; the Resource Center puts the interval at every 28 to 31 days.

New hosts wait longer. Without two completed stays and a verified listing location, the first payout on a monthly stay is held until the end of the business day 28 days after scheduled check-in. Verifying the location lifts that hold.

    Why a payout is late

    ReasonWhat Airbnb saysWhat to do
First reservation as a new hostIdentity verification can delay the first payout; an unverified listing can push it to one business day after checkout.Verify your identity and the listing's location before the first guest arrives.
Payout method not readyA new method usually takes fewer than 7 business days; once ready, paused payouts release within 24 hours if nothing else holds them.Check the method's status under Payments and payouts; add it at listing time, not at check-in.
Missing or mismatched taxpayer informationAirbnb may freeze payments, block the calendar or withhold tax until a valid W-9 or W-8 is on file; payouts due release automatically once it is.Complete the form under Taxes, with the name and tax ID exactly as the IRS has them.
Reservation changed or cancelledA date or amount change re-schedules the payout. On a guest cancellation, a first-time host's payout may be held until 30 days after the booking was confirmed.Open the reservation's transaction history for the revised date and amount.
Security or fraud reviewA transaction review can delay funds for up to 45 days after check-in, pause them or, rarely, remove them.Answer any request for information promptly and keep messages on the platform.
Weekend or bank holidayFast Pay and Payoneer process on weekends and holidays; banks generally do not.Count business days from the release date.

    While you wait

Four checks, in order. The Earnings dashboard shows each reservation's release date; if it has not passed, nothing is late. Payments and payouts shows whether the method is ready rather than pending. Taxes shows whether anything is flagged. If the release date and the method's processing time have both passed, contact Airbnb with the reservation code and the dashboard's payout date, and ask your bank whether an incoming transfer is pending.

How a direct booking pays out

A direct booking changes both clocks. The guest's card is charged at booking, or on whatever deposit and balance schedule you set, rather than the day after check-in. The money then settles through the processor: on Stripe's standard US schedule, funds from a charge pay out two business days later, and Stripe says a new account's first payout takes 7 to 14 days. Nothing waits for the stay to begin, so a direct host holds the cash weeks ahead, and the refund and chargeback exposure with it.

The cost is the other difference. Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% plus 30 cents per card charge, so a $1,000 direct booking pays out $970.70 against Airbnb's $845. On a Haven site, checkout runs on Stripe and the money lands in your own Stripe balance; Haven charges no booking commission, so processing is the only deduction. What a site needs before that first charge clears is in five things a direct booking site needs to accept its first reservation, and Haven's website builder handles the checkout side.

    FAQ

    When does Airbnb pay hosts?

Airbnb typically releases the payout about 24 hours after the guest's scheduled check-in. The money then takes the payout method's processing time: 30 minutes or less for Fast Pay, within 1 business day for PayPal, 3 business days for ACH direct deposit, 3 to 5 for a bank account and 3 to 7 for an international wire.

Why is my Airbnb payout delayed?

The usual reasons are a payout method that is not ready, a first reservation as a new host, missing taxpayer information, a changed or cancelled reservation, a security review that can run up to 45 days after check-in, or a weekend or bank holiday stalling a bank transfer. The Earnings dashboard shows each reservation's release date.

How do payouts work for stays of 28 nights or more?

The first payout is released by the end of the business day after the guest's scheduled check-in, and later payouts follow monthly, every 28 to 31 days. A host without two completed stays and a verified listing location waits until 28 days after check-in for the first payout.

Does Airbnb pay out on weekends?

The release can happen on any day, but whether the money moves depends on the method. Airbnb says Fast Pay and Payoneer process on weekends and holidays, while bank transfers, ACH and wires wait for the next business day.

How quickly does a direct booking pay out?

The guest's card is charged at booking rather than after check-in, and on Stripe's standard US schedule the funds pay out two business days after the charge; a new Stripe account's first payout takes 7 to 14 days. Processing costs 2.9% plus 30 cents, so a $1,000 booking pays out $970.70.
