This is for hosts who are live and want to know what to expect when that first reservation lands. The short version: there is nothing to panic about. Haven shows you the booking, gives you a place to message the guest, and pays you out through Stripe on a schedule. Here is where each of those happens.
A new booking appears in two places: on your Calendar and on the property itself. The Calendar gives you the at-a-glance view of who is arriving and when.
For everything you can do with a reservation once it is in, see managing bookings.
Guest messages live in the Messages tab, so your booking conversations stay in one place rather than scattered across email and text.
A warm, prompt first message sets the tone for the whole stay. The guest communication guide has tips worth a look.
Your earnings reach you through Stripe, which you connected during setup. Payouts follow a schedule rather than landing the instant a guest pays.
For exactly when money moves and how the schedule works, see scheduled payouts.
Cancellations and refunds follow the cancellation policy you set, which the guest agreed to before booking. You do not need to negotiate the terms in the moment, since they are already defined. You will handle the cancellation from the reservation itself when the need arises.
You know where to find a new reservation (Calendar and the property), where to message your guest (Messages), and where to track your money (Payouts). Your first booking is a milestone worth celebrating, so enjoy it.
