If you manage several similar properties — units in the same building, cabins on the same site, or a small set of look-alike rentals — you can duplicate an existing listing instead of building each one from scratch. The duplicate is a full clone of your setup, so you only need to change the things that are actually different (title, address, photos, etc.).
When to Use Duplicate
- You're listing multiple units in the same building or complex that share most amenities and rules
- You have near-identical cabins, cottages, or villas on the same property
- You want to start a new listing using a well-tuned existing one as a template
- You're testing a variation of a listing (different pricing, different policies) and want to keep the original intact
How to Duplicate a Listing
- Open your Host Dashboard and go to the Listings tab (/host?tab=listings)
- Find the listing card you want to copy
- Click the Duplicate icon (the copy icon) in the action row at the upper right of the card
- Review the confirmation dialog — it summarizes what will and will not be copied
- Click Duplicate
Haven creates the new listing and opens it directly in the Edit Listing page so you can adjust whatever needs to be different (typically the address, title, and a few photos).
The duplicate's title is the original title with "(Copy)" appended — for example, "Pine Cabin" becomes "Pine Cabin (Copy)". Rename it as one of your first edits.
What Gets Copied
A duplicate is a complete clone of your listing's setup:
- Photos and video — every image is copied to the new listing (including order, tags, and alt text); the cover video is reused
- General info — title (with "(Copy)"), tagline, description, property type, category, listing type, floors, year built, size
- Location — address, coordinates, timezone, neighborhood description, scenic views, getting-around notes
- Amenities — every amenity toggle and any custom amenities you added
- Pricing — default rate, weekend price, smart pricing setting, additional-guest pricing, all fees (cleaning, linen, management, community, resort, pet, short-stay cleaning), tax rate, security deposit
- Discounts — weekly, monthly, early-bird, last-minute, and trip-length discounts
- Promotions — your active promotions (a fresh Stripe coupon will be issued the first time the duplicate uses one)
- Holiday price bumps — your holiday and school-break pricing rules
- Calendar overrides — per-night price overrides and minimum-stay overrides
- Availability settings — min/max advance days, min/max trip length, advance notice, allowed check-in/checkout days and times, same-day cutoff
- House rules — all rules, additional rules, quiet hours, pets, events, smoking
- Safety disclosures and devices — every safety toggle and disclosure
- Check-in / checkout details — instructions, methods, key details, before-you-leave checklist, late/early check-in settings, custom contacts
- Welcome letter and house manual — including your house manual section configuration
- Local guide — your welcome text and every recommended place
- External calendar feeds (iCal) — the list of feeds is copied (each starts unsynced; Haven will pull a fresh sync on the new listing)
- Cancellation and modification policy
What Does NOT Get Copied
The duplicate is a fresh listing, so anything tied to a specific real-world property or to bookings that have already happened is intentionally left off:
- Reservations and calendar availability — the duplicate has no past or upcoming bookings, and the calendar starts fully open
- Custom domain and custom URL slug — these are unique per listing; set up new ones if you want them
- PMS sync connection — if the original is synced to a PMS like Hospitable, the duplicate is not synced. It's a standalone Haven listing you can leave standalone or connect to a different PMS unit later
- Guest reviews and testimonials — these belong to the original listing and the actual guests who stayed there
- Guest feedback, retargeting history, and inquiries — these are tied to specific guests of the original listing
- Smart-lock assignment — assign a lock to the new listing separately if needed
- Google Business Profile listing — link a new GBP listing to the duplicate if desired
- Generated PDFs (house manual PDF, document QR codes) — these regenerate the next time you save the new listing
After You Duplicate
Once the new listing opens in Edit Listing, run through these in order:
- Rename it — remove the "(Copy)" suffix and give the duplicate its real title
- Update the address — set the correct location for the new unit so the map, distance calculations, and SEO are accurate
- Swap or trim photos — delete photos that are specific to the original unit and upload anything unique to the duplicate
- Adjust pricing if the new unit should price differently
- Connect a PMS calendar if you use Hospitable or another integration — see Calendar Sync
- Set up custom URL or domain if you want a branded link for the new listing — see Custom URLs and Custom Domains
Billing
Each Haven listing counts as a property on your subscription. Duplicating a listing creates a new property, so your property add-on quantity is updated automatically the next time your subscription syncs. See Billing & Subscription for current usage.
