From Costa Rica’s lush Herradura gardens or sandy beaches in Jaco, to the tranquil pine forests of Pinetop-Lakeside. By Pines & Beaches Vacation Rentals · November 4, 2026If you want three bedrooms in Garabito for a trip built around swimming and doing very little else, book Condo Brisa. It's the only true three-bedroom we manage in the canton, it sleeps six, and it sits in the quieter northern end of Jacó with a community pool, a gym and a game room attached to the building. Everything below is why that answer holds, and the one case where a different house is the better call.
A swimming trip has a rhythm to it. You're wet most of the day, you're hungry at odd hours, and nobody wants to get in a car. Condo Brisa suits that. Three bedrooms, one queen and two doubles, two bathrooms, and a kitchen with a dishwasher, which matters more than it sounds when six people are eating breakfast in swimsuits and lunch at three. There's a washer and dryer in the unit, so the pile of damp towels never becomes a problem. An elevator, which you'll be glad of carrying groceries and coolers up.
The building is in the northern part of Jacó, and the view from the balcony is mountains rather than water: thick green ridges where scarlet macaws turn up often enough that guests stop photographing them by day three. It's about a five-minute walk, roughly 300 metres, to Jacó Beach. Downtown Jacó is close, and Playa Hermosa and Playa Herradura are both an easy drive.
The pools are shared, with separate water for adults and kids, and there are BBQ areas, a playground and a mini basketball court on site. Inside the complex there's a gym, a game room with a pool table and foosball, 24/7 security and secured parking. On-site dining and a bakery and liquor market mean you can go a full day without starting the car. Uber Eats delivers.
Playa Jacó is the one you'll walk to, and it's a surf beach: good for splashing, body-surfing and watching the sun go down over the Pacific, less good if what you picture is standing chest-deep in flat water. For that, drive north to Playa Herradura. The bay curves like a horseshoe, the sand runs a cinnamon colour, and the water is calm. It's also lined with seafood restaurants and serves as the departure point for snorkel and dive trips out to the nearby reefs. The drive from Jacó is short, somewhere around ten to twenty minutes depending on traffic through town, and a bus runs the route hourly from early morning until late.
South of town, Playa Hermosa gets the serious surf and the better parties. Further along the coast, Playa Esterillos has a real local community to it and Playa Bejuco feels genuinely secluded. If someone in the group wants a morning off the sand, Carara National Park is north on Route 34, about twenty to twenty-five minutes from Jacó, where the dry forest of the north meets the humid rainforest of the south.
Three bedrooms is a bedroom count, not a headcount, and plenty of people searching for one are really asking for room for eight. If that's you, look at Casa Rivera, a four-bedroom house in the southern part of Jacó that sleeps eight across three bathrooms. It's a different kind of stay: a single-family home inside a gated community with swimming pools, a lap pool, a tennis court, ping-pong, mini golf, volleyball, a yoga deck, outdoor showers, walking paths and shaded lounging under tropical gardens. Guests end up spending whole afternoons without leaving the gates, which is either exactly what you want or not the point of coming to Costa Rica, depending on the group.
Casa Rivera has a private terrace, a proper kitchen with an oven and a dishwasher, and an ice maker, a small thing that becomes a large thing in March. The beach is a short walk or a quick cab ride. I'd book it over Condo Brisa for a group of seven or eight, for anyone travelling with teenagers who'll live on the tennis court, and for families who want the kids loose in a secure community rather than in a lift.
One more, because it keeps coming up with three-bedroom searches that are really group searches. Zenergy Casa & Cabinas has a main house of three bedrooms, two sharing a bath and one with its own ensuite, plus three separate guest cabinas in the garden. Together that's six bedrooms and sleeping for thirteen, with a large private pool rather than a shared one, an onsite team, and a crib if you're travelling with a baby. It's the one property here that takes pets. If your group fits in the main house alone, book one of the smaller listings instead; if you're a reunion or two families travelling together, this is the layout that keeps everyone under one roof without anyone sharing a wall.
We manage these homes ourselves rather than handing them to a desk, so the sensible move is to message us with your dates and your actual headcount, including which guests are kids, before you lock anything in. Sleeping arrangements and current availability are worth confirming directly, and booking direct with us means lower prices and no platform fees.
One piece of practical advice: decide early whether you want the lift-and-walk version of this trip or the gates-and-gardens version. That single decision, more than bedroom count, is what separates a good week here from a frustrating one.
