We stayed the weekend before Christmas. We chose the location because it was close to the Great Northern Railway Santa Train ride (~20 mile drive). We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was super cute and cozy. We had seven people in our group and the cabin was very spacious with lots of beds. The loft area was nice for the kids. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and pac man game downstairs. it was nice to run the gas fire places. Brad, the host, had very easy and clear instructions for the cabin. He was also very responsive with messaging. I would definitely consider going back to this beautiful Northwoods retreat.
Beautiful lake home with big windows and deck to enjoy the view of the lake. It was nice having the kayaks and canoe available for our use. It was too cold to swim during our stay, but if we would have, we would’ve floated 10 yards out to get away from the many lily pads that surrounded the pier. They are gorgeous to look at, but of course people don’t like to swim amongst them. The lake was very clean and the fish were biting. The place was very clean, and the beds very comfortable. We loved having the Pac-Man machine and ping-pong available, especially for our rainy day. If you plan to do any cooking, be sure to bring cooking spray, oil, spices, salt & pepper, etc. There were coffee filters for a 12 cup coffee pot, but I’m not sure if they were left from the people before us. The listing did not mention that the bedroom with the four beds is actually an open loft, so I think that’s important for people to know who are concerned about privacy and sound traveling from the main level
Our family stayed at this peaceful cabin on Little Sand Lake for 3 nights and had a wonderful time! It was very relaxing and quiet - felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We had fun kayaking, fishing off the pier, exploring Stone Lake and Hayward, and sitting by the fire at night. Would definitely stay here again!
This cabin was perfect for our family. The younger kids loved the loft and the older ones loved having their own space downstairs. We spent our days outside fishing off the dock and using the kayaks and canoe. Perfect spot for a nice quiet family vacation.

Rental Etiquette We want your family to have fun, relax, and enjoy your time here! Here are a few things we kindly ask you to observe while you are having fun. Noise: Please be conscious that we are on a small, quiet lake in the Northwoods and sound really travels. No music and no stereos outside at any time. Also- by 10pm, please move the gatherings inside! We have excellent relations with the neighbors and would very much appreciate your cooperation in keeping noise to manageable levels. 15 M.P.H. Speed Limits: We share the driveway with our neighbor – from the road to the fork in the driveway -- so we kindly ask that you go slow and keep your speed limit to 15mph while on the driveway. Firewood: For summertime campfires in the firepit, we encourage you to use our firewood stacked next to the cabin! It's yours to use and it is included in the rent! Just a few requests: • Please only use what you need. • Please keep the wood piles covered with the tarps when done using. Lights: The exterior lights are bright! Especially the deck lights facing the lake. Please be courteous to neighbors and turn off exterior lights when they are not being used. Well and Septic: The property is on a well and septic system. Here are few notes: • Well: Unlike city water, our water is pumped out of a well next to the cabin. To maintain our lodging license our well water is tested annually by the county health department to be safe to drink. We also installed a water softener; so not only is our water safe, but it tastes great too! I use the water for everything….coffee….cooking…ice water….etc. If you like ice water, I highly recommend using the water and ice dispenser on the refrigerator! • Septic: The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. We kindly ask that you not flush anything other than toilet paper. (No paper towels, feminine products, etc) Doors and Windows: Please keep doors closed to keep the bugs out! Guests are welcome to open windows however we ask that this be done sparingly to maintain consistent temperature and humidity inside the cabin. Please turn off heating/cooling systems while windows are open! Pet Policies We love dogs. We felt like there weren't enough vacation rentals that allowed pets so we wanted to be the exception. If you brought your dog with you, we kindly ask that you: • Keep your dog leashed at all times when outdoors. • Clean up all refuse. • Keep them from producing excessive noise at a level that disturbs neighbors. • Do not leave them unattended for an undue length of time. If you are planning to leave your dog(s) alone in the cabin for any length of time, we kindly ask that you bring a kennel and kennel them while you are gone. • Do not leave them unattended on the screened-in porch.
