How many people can stay?

Up to eight: a queen primary suite, an upstairs split king, an upstairs queen, and a queen sleeper sofa in the sitting room.

Can we hold the wedding or reception here?

No. The house rules don’t allow parties or events. The house is designed for staying and getting ready; the celebration belongs at your venue.

Can our photographer shoot at the house?

Yes, commercial photography is allowed. The greenhouse, fountain and gardens make lovely getting-ready and portrait backdrops.

How many people can get ready at once?

Both full bathrooms have double vanities, there is a half bath, mirrors are in every room, and the primary suite’s walk-in closet is set up as a getting-ready space with a full-length mirror, an ironing board and a steamer.

One car in the attached garage and up to four in the driveway. The garage means the wedding party can load up dry on a rainy day.

Will GPS find the house?

Maybe not: it was built in 2026 and the maps may not have caught up. We send directions with your booking. Look for two white brick pillars at the turn into the long asphalt drive.

Is any part of the house off limits?

Only three closets and two upstairs storage areas. The rest of the house and the grounds are yours.

You will receive a code to the Wi-Fi lock before your stay.

Is it good for babies?

The upstairs king bedroom has a pack-and-play, and there are toys in the house.

There are exterior security cameras on the property, outside only.

No smoking anywhere on the property.

Built for the wedding weekend

Skip the hotel rooms. Get ready under one roof.

A new country house on a quiet acre in Johnston County, minutes from the area’s wedding venues, designed so a whole wedding party can dress, primp and leave together, then come home to a porch, a garden and a greenhouse.

The house

Newly built, at the end of a long drive

Turn in between two white brick pillars and follow the asphalt drive about a hundred yards to a custom home completed in 2026: nearly 3,200 square feet of high-end finishes on a secluded one-acre lot. Three bedrooms and a sitting room with a sleeper sofa hold up to eight, and the whole house and grounds are yours.

An outdoor living room, made of glass

Air-conditioned, furnished in bright, comfortable colours, and strictly shoes off. Coffee in the morning, the bouquets before the ceremony, the photos everyone keeps.

From the owner

Why we built it this way

For more than thirty years we travelled with our own pillows and boxes of cookware, because the rentals we found never quite had what we needed. When we built The Greenhouse Getaway in 2026, on country land that was once part of a larger farm, we designed it around one kind of weekend in particular: the wedding.

Johnston County is full of beautiful venues, and the families and wedding parties who come for them deserve better than a corridor of hotel rooms. So the house has two full bathrooms with double vanities and a half bath, full-length mirrors throughout, ironing boards and steamers, a primary suite with a walk-in closet big enough to get ready in, and a garage so everyone can load up dry when it rains. And then there is the greenhouse, which we hope ends up in your photos.

We also own Deer Trail Lodge on Beech Mountain. If you need anything while you are here, call or text.
